Support the mission of "Inspiring Wildlife Stewards for Life"

Raising $175,000 to spark new conservation advocates and provide 112 Safari West LIVE programs STEM and wildlife education programs for 1,000 children in classrooms and at Safari West 7 months of Junior Keeper programming

Safari West LIVE brings the excitement of Safari West's African wildlife and biology learning to children in hospitals nationwide, supporting mental health and hope for wellness. Young explorers look forward to interacting with a Safari West Naturalist and their favorite animals. The children literally light up when they see their favorite Safari West resident such as a giraffe, rhino, or lemur. This program gives children something to look forward to and breaks the routine of hospital living and treatments.

Junior Keepers work as teams over 7 months while learning about veterinary care, osteology, and biology. When working with Safari West's animals, these teens discover their conservation passions, develop essential life skills, and foster meaningful connections within their communities.

Discover Africa provides title 1 schools (student population of 40% or more on Federal assistance) from the North Bay Region's 3-12 grade students with adventures to Safari West to engage the spark to become young conservationists. In-classroom STEM learning completes the program, as teachers are supported with project lessons for biology and conservation student projects. The majority of public schools in the North Bay are Title 1 and for many students, this is their only opportunity to see an African wild animal up close and personal, bringing a meaningful connection to classroom and conservation projects.

We need your help now more than ever! Monitored African vertebrate wildlife has experienced a 76% population decline between 1970 and 2020*.  But there's hope as we're seeing progress population increases through education and conservation! Our work inspires and educates our youth and leaders of tomorrow on wildlife and habitat conservation, creating the spark and knowledge of how to activate conservation and research tools to help save these species for future generations. Safari West Wildlife Foundation's programs continue to create caring wildlife conservation leaders making an impact now in biology, veterinary, zoological, and conservation fields.

Your support nurtures the potential of an individual and contributes to the broader societal fabric, fostering a more inclusive and prosperous future for all. Through mentorship, education, and access to resources, we can and have inspired young people to become conservation leaders, innovators, and changemakers, driving positive change and creating a brighter tomorrow for generations of humans and wildlife to come.
